前CIA驻港官员因持有机密情报被捕

A former CIA officer has been arrested for retaining classified information, the US Department of Justice said on Tuesday.

美国司法部(DoJ)周二表示，一名前中央情报局(CIA)官员因保留机密情报被逮捕。

Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, a naturalised US citizen, was arrested on Monday on his arrival in New York after FBI agents discovered he was in unauthorised possession of classified information years after he left the intelligence service.

周一，53岁的归化美国公民Jerry Chun Shing Lee在抵达纽约时被逮捕。此前，美国联邦调查局(FBI)发现，他在离开CIA多年后在未获授权的情况下持有机密情报。

Mr Lee began working for the CIA in 1994 as a case officer and held a Top Secret clearance before he left the service in 2007. He has been living in Hong Kong.

Lee从1994年开始在CIA担任案件官员，在2007年离开CIA之前拥有接触绝密级(Top Secret)情报的权限。他一直居住在香港。

Court-authorised FBI searches of Mr Lee’s hotel rooms during stays in Hawaii and Virginia found “two small books containing handwritten notes that contained classified information, including but not limited to, true names and phone numbers of assets and covert CIA employees, operational notes from asset meetings, operational meeting locations and locations of covert facilities,” the DoJ statement said.

美国司法部发表声明称，FBI在得到法庭授权后，对Lee在夏威夷和弗吉尼亚州逗留期间的酒店房间进行了搜查，发现“两本里面有手写笔记的小册子，笔记内容包含机密情报，包括但不限于线人和秘密CIA雇员的真实姓名和电话号码、线人会议的行动笔记、行动会议地点和秘密设施的地点。”

If convicted, Mr Lee faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

如果罪名成立，Lee会被判处最高10年监禁。
