一、中国文化的影响
例1：(请问，您需要买些什么?)What do you want to buy?
商店售货员，或者在服务行业工作的人，经常使用这样的句子，但是它不符合英语习惯用法。这是典型的中国式英语。此话应改为：
(1)What can I do for you?
(2)Can I help you?
例2：(你能告诉我什么时候我应当寄出我的申请书?)Can you tell me in advance when I should send out my application?
这种中式英语缺乏英语中的客气和婉转的语气。这句应当改写成：
I would appreciate it very much should you let me know in advance when I should send my application.
或者
I would appreciate it very muchthe appropriate time to send my if I am notified in advance of application.
二、.过时英语
例1：(我决心在她面前绝不再谈起这件事。)I’m determinednever to talk about this matter again in front of her
determined在英汉词典中有“决心”的意思，但它并不是标准英语准确的意思。另外它也是比较陈旧的用法。这句应当改写成：
I have resolved never to talk about this matter again in front of her.
例2：(今天下午我们班要和三班打一场篮球比赛。)This afternoon our class is going to have a basketball match with Class h尽管有“比赛”的意思，目前更流行的用法是game.所以这句
应当改写为：
This afternoon our class is going to play a basketball game with Class 3
