上帝的号码
Each Sunday, the minister would call the children to the front of the cathedra while he told them the story. Once he brought a telephone to better illustrate the idea of prayer. He drew a telephone on the blackboard with a piece of chalk.
每个星期天牧师都会把孩子们叫到教堂前面给他们讲一个神话故事。一天，他为了更好地阐述祈祷的含义，带来了一台电话机，并用粉笔在黑板上画了台电话机。
"You communicate with friends on the telephone and don't see them on the other end of the line, right?" he began.

The chlidren nodded yes. "While talking to God is like talking on the telephone. He's on the other end but you can't see him. He is listening though."
孩子们点头称是。“好的，和上帝交谈就像通过电话交谈一样。他就在另一端，虽然你看不见他，但是他正在聆听你的心声。”
Just then a little boy with golden hair piped up and asked, "What's his number? Otherwise we can't connect with him." The minister was choked by his words for a long time.

I thought nobody wanted it and so I picked it up and took it home."

"But it is not against the criminal law of the federal government to pick up a piece of rope andtake home!"
“但是，捡一根绳子并没有触犯联邦政府的刑法啊!”
"I told you I had bad luck, didn't I?" The man sighed.
“我告诉过你我倒霉了吧?”那个人叹了口气。
"Why didn’t you ask a lawyer to defended."
“那你怎么没找律师为你辩护呢?”
"The trouble is that I didn't notice there was an ox at the other terminal of that rope."
“麻烦的就是我当时没有注意到绳子的那一头还有一头公牛。”

A chief executive officer,CEO，was interviewing candidates for a position as an industrial industrial spy needed to have keen eyesight plus the ability to act quickly.

During one oral examination, the CEO pointed at a hill about a mile away and asked acandidate: "Can you see that hill over there?"
在一次口头测试时，CEO指着一英里外的一座小山问一名候选人：“你能看见那座山吗?”
"Yes,Sir." He replied.
“是的，先生。”他回答道。
"Can you see the temple tower on that hill ?"
“你能看见那座山上的寺庙塔尖吗?”
Again the candidate remarked that he could.
候选人又说他能。
"Well then." the CEO went on, "Can you see that mosquito sitting on the temple tower?"
“那么，”CEO接着说：“你能看见停在塔尖上的那只蚊子吗?”
The candidate answered, "NO,Sir." But he said properly, "But I can hear it is singing."
这名候选人得体得回答说，“看不见，先生。但我听得见它在唱歌。”
He got the job.
于是他得到了那份工作。
