Amath professor was very absent-minded. When his family moved from Cambridge toLondon, his wife, knowing that he would forget where they would move to, wrotedown the new address on a piece of paper and gave it to him.

Duringthe day, the professor had an idea in solving a math problem. He found the pieceof paper in his pocket and started to write on it. Later he thought he had madea mistake, so he threw the paper away.

Atthe end of the day he went back to his old house. Then he realized that they hadmoved. However, he had no idea where they had moved to, and the paper with thenew address was long gone.

Fortunately,he saw a young girl in the street. “Excuse me, perhaps you know me. I lived inthis house until this morning, and we’ve just moved. Do you know where we’vemoved to?” he asked. The young girl replied, “Yes, Daddy, Mommy thought youwould forget, so I came here to meet you.” (176)
