Unforeseen

[ˌʌnfɔr'sin]

adj. 未预见到的；意料之外的

合同当事人在订立买卖合同时，一般都订有不可抗力条款（Force Majeure Clause），

不可抗力（Force Majeure）是指不能预见的情况（unforeseen circumstances）、不能避免并不能克服的客观情况。

不可抗力可以是自然原因（natural cause）酿成的，也可以是人为的、社会因素引起的，前者如地震、水灾、旱灾等，后者如战争、政府禁令（government prohibition）、罢工（strike）等。

那些意外事件（unforeseen incidents）往往带来不可预见的损失（unforeseen loss）。

这个项目因意外情况而拖延了。

For protection against unforeseen emergencies, people insure their house, furnishings and cars.
