据说这个短语来自1950年代的一出百老汇音乐剧 Gypsy: A Musical Fable,剧中的其中一首歌就叫做 Everythings Coming up Roses,这句话的涵义也是源自于歌词,表示事情进展顺利,渐入佳境。
