发假消息将会进监狱

The 9th Amendment to Criminal Law will come into effect next month.

11月起，《刑法修正案(九)》正式施行。

The revision includes several new articles regarding nine common offences, including posting false information on WeChat or micro blogs; hiring surrogate exam-takers in national exams; making trouble in a hospital to benefit oneself; driving an overloaded school or public bus or speeding when driving such buses; possessing books advocating terrorism; and mistreating the elderly, the young, the ill and the disabled.

这部新修订的法律增加了不少新规定，将9种常见行为列入刑事处罚范围。如：在微信、微博发布假消息；国家考试中找人替考；试图通过医闹获利；校车、客车严重超员、超速；私藏恐怖主义书籍；虐待老幼病残等。

The amendment's 291st article says that making up information concerning emergencies, epidemics, natural disasters and police vigilance on the Internet or social media will result in a jail term of less than 3 years, detention or surveillance. The article imposes the same penalty for those who intentionally spread rumors that severely disturb social order. It also stipulates that rumormongers who cause severe consequences will face jail terms of 3 to 7 years.

修正案第291条规定，编造虚假的险情、疫情、灾情、警情，在信息网络或者其他媒体上传播，或者明知是上述虚假信息，故意在信息网络或者其他媒体上传播，严重扰乱社会秩序的，处3年以下有期徒刑、拘役或者管制；造成严重后果的，处3年以上7年以下有期徒刑。
