A security officer for the community acknowledged that the houses have already become a great place for residents to feed stray dogs in the area, and that they will serve as great accommodations for the strays in the cold autumn and winter months.

An elderly woman, surnamed Zhang, believes that the houses are a reflection of society's love for animals.

But not everyone agrees. One man living in the community, surnamed Ma, said he was worried about the stray dogs' hygiene, arguing that the bacteria carried by the animals may be a potential threat for residents.
