Which one do you think is the best way to get to know a city: joining in an organized tour, visiting the museum or walking along the streets?

参考思路：选择“joining in an organized tour”;Reason 1: professional knowledge from tour guides, Reason 2: fully concentrating on knowing the city without any burdens.

Sample:

As far as I’m concerned, joining in an organized tour would be the best way to get to know a city. Most people are not so familiar with other places, and it would be unrealistic for them to do the research before travelling because theymight be busy working or studying. If they just want to have some fun, there is no harm to visit the museum or walk along the streets. But if they reallyaim to know about a new city, they would need some professional knowledge which canbe provided by the tour guides in theorganized tours. The second reason is that by joining in an organized tour, people don’t need to worry about terms like accommodation, flight tickets and other stuff because they are all set. In thisway, they can fully concentrate onknowing the city without any burdens.

Which period do you think is most challenging: childhood, teenage or adulthood?

参考思路：选择“teenage period”;Reason 1: start to face some new problems, Reason 2: face a dilemma to hold on to their own ideas or not.

In my opinion, teenage period is the most challenging one and I’ve got some reasons for that. First, teenagers start to face some problems like what to learn as a major anddealing with a relationship, something that is totally new tothem. Basically they have to learn those by themselves. What’s more, compared to adults who can control their ownlives and kids who just rely on their parents, youngsters face the dilemma that they need to live a life in between. Theymight have their own ideas towards certain issues but just have to compromise. Those are the reasons why I think teenagers face the most challenges of all.

托福口语的独立题task1，我把它称作“freestyle环节”，因为没有固定的回答模式，内容可以多种多样，发挥空间很大，但这也给考生造成不小的麻烦，如：选择太多不知说哪个好，很容易想出回答但说不详细等等。这样一来，“自由”反倒变成了“束缚”。除了常规的“人事地物”四大类话题之外，近年来的考试中出现了越来越多的“三选一”题型，让许多“选择困难症患者”头疼不已。

在这里，我们不妨看几个简单易用的拓展步骤，来搞定这些“三选一”题型。

一， 果断选择最了解的那个

以今年7月份的一道task1考题为例，Which of the following areas should government invest money in? education, health, space exploration. “政府投资”本来就是同学们比较陌生的话题，而在教育、健康、太空探索三个话题中，我相信大部分同学会选择教育或者健康， 因为这两个话题是日常生活中经常涉及的。考试中15秒钟的准备时间相当有限，不光要快速做决定，还要抽出部分时间思考例子，所以容不得丝毫纠结。

二, 五秒钟完成开头句

首先，请记住第一句话一定要先把观点表述清楚，并且开头句一定要做到无比熟练，诸位考生可以反复训练开头句的表达，一般来说，应该做到五秒钟以内熟练搞定，如上题， 我们拿健康为例,开头可以说Personally，I think government should invest money inhealth.如果开头句时常卡壳，那么唯有像练习绕口令一般，反复训练，熟能生巧。

三， 拿生活经历来举例

如果我们有与话题相关的经历，那么可以说Take my experience as an example.或者，I remember once…， 多用第一人称表达，如I/we/me/us/my/our.举例方式很简单，就像小学时老师教我们记叙文三要素那样，时间、地点、人物，只要提供这些基本的信息，再稍加润色，我们的例子就可以很丰富。

还是拿上面这道“政府投资”为例，sample answer: Take my experience as an example, last year, the government in my hometown invested on a health program to provide people with free medical service. In this program, doctors went to ourcommunity to measure blood pressure for residents and offered some advice on our daily diet in order to help us improve fitness level. This program really benefited us a lot.

时间，last year, 地点，my hometown, our community, 人物：doctors, residents

然而，如果我们没有相关经历，也没关系，说说自己身边的人，或者干脆说的笼统一些，描述对象为people或者一类人群，诸如children/teenagers/adults/young people/elderly people.

例如， It would be definitely beneficial for elderly people if government could invest more money on health projects. As we all know, elderly people tend to be more vulnerable and they often suffer from all kinds of health problems.

These health projects could enable them to enjoy good nursing care service and have a better life quality.

例子中描述的是老年人群体 elderly people, 并不涉及具体对象。

综上所述，同学们只要在平时的练习中养成习惯，在遇到三选一题型时便不至于乱了方寸，还是那句话，考场45秒钟，场外许多功，希望各位考生多加操练，在task 1遇到三选一题型时能够得心应手。

托福口语三选一题型要不要反驳另外两点

最近的托福考试中，口语T1经常出现3选1类型的题。这类题学生们有一个最关心的问题：我在说其中之一好的时候，还要不要再说下另外二个的不好呢?

按理来说，我们只说其中之一为什么好就足够了;而且我自己在考场上也经常这样答，还是照样拿到GOOD。

但“究竟要不要反驳另外2点”，更多是看题目的问法。

今天我将通过以下几道机经题，跟大家说明下“ 怎么把3选1题的答题思路整理好并且避免答题误区”。

第一类：建议不反驳另外2点

例1：Your school has a program that allows students to visit workplaces. What place would you choose to observe and learn about?

1.A science laboratory 2. A business office 3. A television studio

易出错点：题干问的是你为什么想去那里observe和learn about，所以我们常用的这个地方“能have fun”或者“让我relaxed”的理由在这里都不适用。

解题思路：我会从学知识的角度出发，比如因为我今后想去 business school(商科院校)，那么选business office能帮我提前积累相关经验。另外2个，同理。

所以在作答的时候，大部分时间都花在了“相关经验的具体化”上面了，不太可能有时间再去反驳另外2个。

例2：Which of the following activities do you consider most enjoyable for a Saturday afternoon?

1. play sports game 2. be with friend 3. cook at home

易出错点：如果我选择play sports game，题目问的是“enjoyable”，那理由用maintain a good health 就不合适。因为保持健康更像是解释“它为什么重要”而非“它为什么让我享受”。但如果题目是这样问的：Which of the following activities do you prefer the most on a Saturday afternoon?虽然这2道题很像，但后者没有问你具体“图什么”，所以这里你就可以说“maintain a good health”。所以也再次提醒大家一定要注意审题!

解题思路：选体育锻炼的话，“to make me relaxed”是一个很好的理由，因此我会用更多的细节来具体化“进行体育锻炼是如何让我放松的”，同样不会提及另2个。

第二类：建议着重反驳另外2点

例1：If you were to study a new form of art, which would you choose?

1. Wood sculpture 2. Portrait 3. Photography

解题思路：假如我们选photography，我认为这种题从正面说“它为什么好”会不太好说，因为我们考生大部分都是非专业者，具体细节很难给出来，导致答题没有说服力。但如果我选择说另外两方的缺点，比如“wood sculpture和Portrait太难了，需要a good foundation of art，而我没有，所以我学不会”，就会好说很多。

例2：Science / romantic/ horrible movies 你会选哪个?

解题思路：我会选romantic movies，其实理由很简单，我觉得不费脑。但我发现这个理由很难具体化、并且另外2类的特点又特别鲜明，所以这种情况下，我就会选择说另外2个如何不好。科幻类难理解、让我confused，恐怖片我会be afraid of horrible things，对比之下，我选择爱情片。

托福口语之三选一话题分析

从前年开始，托福口语独立题型中就开始陆陆续续出现了三选一这种类型的话题，三选一的话题，让考生在短时间内更有方向，更有选择范围，同时也加大了考试难度。不少考生觉得三选一话题容易陷入陷阱，即第一印象觉得某一个选项很好说，真正开始讲的时候，却磕磕绊绊，很不流畅。琥珀光速语言学校Kelvin老师通过下面的一道例题，给大家讲讲这种题目，该如何在短时间内突破，请大家看下下面的例题：

Which of following do you think is the bestway for you to maintain your health----exercising on a regular basis, eatinghealthy, or getting enough sleep?

其实这个问题的核心内容是，以下三种方式，哪一种是最好的能够维持健康的方式，它虽然要求你说是最好的，也就是说你要讲出你所选的这种方式能够带来的好处是其它两类不能带来的。清楚这一点后，需要紧扣中心，给出理由，如果随随便便找出一两个来，首先自己这一关就过不去，很难再后续中表现出流利的口语表达来。

其实清楚了这道题的思路后，大家会发现getting enough sleep是比较好说的，因为如果没有good sleep, 很难去进行锻炼或者拥有良好的饮食习惯。选择了sleep后，我们就开始罗列理由了。第一，Enough sleep can bring enough vitality or energy we need for a day. 第二，Enoughsleep can reduce percentage of heart disease or high blood pressure. 罗列两点就可以了，然后针对其中一点举例，进行充分说明。譬如第一条理由，可以举例自己曾经熬夜奋斗考试，结果考试时候睡着了，得不偿失等等。大家清楚了么?
