今天讲一个特别好的词，用法也相当广泛：due,　尤其在口语对话中，你可能会经常用到这个词，下面一一介绍：

首先，作为一个形容词，“due”有“当付的”，“应付给的”，“预期的”的意思：

Your bank loan is due by the end of this month.　你的银行贷款这个月底到期。
You have not given what is due to me. 你欠我的钱还没有还，你该还钱了。
The flight to Beijing is due at 1:30.　到北京的这趟航班预期1:30到达。

“due”作为一个名词（仅用单数），意思是“应得之物”，“应付之款”，“应缴之费”等：

Offer your employees their due.　　给你的员工们他们应得的。
I’ve got lots of due to make this week.　我这个星期有很多开支要支付。
Are you able to cover all the due resulting from studying abroad?　你有能力支付在国外学习的各项费用吗？

最后，介绍这个最常用的词组：“due to”，意思是“由于”，“起因于”，相当于“owing to”：

Her absence of my class is due to illness. 她因病缺席没来上我的课。
Due to his careless driving, we had a bad accident.　由于他的大意驾驶，我们出了车祸。
Jenny failed her job due to her incompetence.　珍丽由于能力不够没能胜任这个工作。
