It's a mixed bag. There are some sociAl benefits to be derived from co-education because being in close contact with the opposite sex everyday means it won't be an alien experience when one encounters the same in the workplace. However, girls are more likely to flourish in an all-girl school environment because there's less sexism, sexual harassment, and less pressure to conform to traditionally feminine roles.
